Morris Community Activities has an Assistant position available! 

Assistant to the Director of Community Activities: Assists with the day-to-day operation of an active Senior Center and Beach and Recreation Department. Performs a full range of clerical functions and secretarial support. Along with organizing and implementing special events, community events, excursions and community outreach through the Senior Center and Beach and Recreation Department, under the supervision of Director of Community Activities.
 
This part time, 20 hour per week position includes a schedule of Monday - Friday, occasional weekends (days and hours may vary).

Wrapped in the glow of twinkling lights, model trains and trolleys zip along over winding tracks past scaled replicas of New York Landmarks. Orange slices, cinnamon sticks, poppy pods, pine cones and a host of plant materials are used to create the more than 140 architectural reproductions. The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, The Brooklyn Bridge and Yankee Stadium are just a few examples.

See the gingerbread houses and ongoing demonstrations. Stop at the café for a cup of coffee and let's not forget to visit the gift shop!

Following our time at the Garden, we’ll enjoy lunch at Ann
& Tony’s, a popular Italian restaurant on Arthur Avenue, the “Little Italy of the Bronx”. Your menu will consist of: tossed salad, choice of Eggplant Parmesan, Veal Parmesan, or Chicken Marsala, pasta, vegetable and topped off with coffee / tea and dessert.

And finally we'll enjoy some time to shop the Italian Market of Arthur Avenue before departing for home.

Morris Community Activities (Morris Beach and Recreation / Morris Senior Center) have partnered with AAA Northeast / Collette Tours to bring you this once is a lifetime experience. You will enjoy 8 days / 7 nights in Washington / Oregon / California.

Some of the highlights of your experience include, but are not limited to: visits to Mount St. Helens Visitor Center, Columbia River Gorge, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Rogue River Cruise, Redwood National Park, Avenue of the Giants and finally...San Francisco!

We’ll be spending one day in Washington, three days in Oregon, and three days in California.

Your tour includes 12 meals: 7 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 3 dinners.

This adventure includes your round trip air fare from John F. Kennedy International Airport along with ALL of your transfers including transportation to and from the airport from the Morris Town Hall, hotel accommodations, 12 meals along with activity / museum entry fees. Gratuities not included.

Travel dates are April 27 - May 4, 2027. Cost per person, double occupancy—$4,499. Single / triple rates are available upon request.

ABOUT

Providing recreational, social and travel opportunities to members of our Community.

The Morris Beach and Recreation Department is pleased to offer our Community a variety of recreational, social and travel opportunities.

We are very proud of our wonderful Morris Town Beach Recreational Complex which features a multi-purpose full size football and soccer field, an additional soccer field, a little league baseball / softball field and a basketball court. There is also a beach and picnic area located on the south shore of the largest natural body of water in the state of Connecticut, Bantam Lake. Also at the Complex is a beautiful pavilion which is available to rent for family or civic functions, complete with restrooms and several picnic tables. You will also find horseshoe pits and an additional out-building at the Complex.
