Crafting in the Summer means crafting with seashells!
We have some great seashell themed crafts lined up for you! You’ll have an opportunity to make up to four different seashell crafts. We’ll have all of the supplies for you along with expert instruction to guide you along in creating your projects.
Join us for a fun afternoon of creativity, sitting in the A / C!

We'll be welcoming back our friends from CONNECT PT with a discussion on "Shoulder Pain".

Physical therapy treats shoulder pain by addressing the root cause-such as muscle imbalances, joint stiffness, or poor posture. Therapists use tailored exercises, hands-on joint manipulation, and movement education to safely restore your range of motion and strengthen the muscles supporting the joint.

This is a BROWN BAG lunch event with dessert sponsored by CONNECT PTI *Now with on office in Litchfield

Another of our favorite annual traditions returns:  
Senior Picnic at the Morris Town Beach Pavilion!

This year, we'll enjoy a patriotic theme in honor of our Nation's 250th Anniversary!

Our beautiful Morris Town Beach Pavilion on the shores of the lovely Bantam Lake - the largest natural body of water in the State of Connecticut!  We'll enjoy a catered picnic lunch under the Pavilion complete with a FUN and a delicious dessert. Following lunch, we'll be entertained with some fabulous live entertainment. We'll be sure to include our famous raffles, door prizes and our "Guess How Many" jar and maybe even a few additional surprises!
Tickets are REQUIRED to attend and can be purchased from the Morris Senior Center, directly.

Monday, July 27 / 12pm / MTB Pavilion / $20 pp












This has become a fun annual tradition at the Morris Town Beach Pavilion thanks to the generosity of the Morris Senior Center Commission!  lt returns this year, as well!

We'll be welcoming Milestone Pizza of Thomaston and their amazing wood fired pizza oven on wheels! Hot fresh pizzas, made to order! Any combination from sausage and peppers to ham and pineapple! (Does pineapple belong on pizza??!)  As if the pizzas weren't enough, their salad is also delicious!

Not to speak of the amazing venue we have at the Morris Town Beach - views are simply gorgeous - right in our backyard. Live, foot tapping entertainment will round out this afternoon; sure to make it a memorable occasion!

Lunch Bunch meets on the first Friday of each month. Each month, we'll showcase a different restaurant in our area to enjoy lunch together. Make your reservation for Lunch Bunch with us, but we'll meet directly at the designated restaurant.

This month's showcased restaurant is The Hopkins Inn, located at 22 Hopkins Road in Warren. The restaurant is renowned for its contemporary Austrian cuisine, reflecting Franz Schober's heritage.. Marry recent additions to the menus are distinctly American in flavor.

This month's showcased restaurant is AJs Steak and Pizza located at 171 Torrington Street in Goshen. Lively steakhouse featuring burgers. pizza, seafood dishes and beer.

KID FOR THE DAY Bus Trip!
We're going to do what all the cool kids do in the Summer!  Go mini golfing, eat pizza, have ice cream and hang out! So fun!
We'll be teeing off at Matterhorn Mini Golf -  A Swiss Adventure with 18 holes of world-class miniature golf!  You'll be yodeling before you know it!  After meeting par on every hole, we've worked up an appetite, so we're off for lunch with pizza on the menu!  Some free time to explore followed by our ice cream stop!  What a fun day with friends!

42ND STREET AT THE SHARON PLAYHOUSE!
A rite of Summer for us is a trip out to the quaint little town of Sharon and the amazing talent we find every year at the Sharon Playhouse. We've missed bearing witness to their fabulous productions -  currently, 42nd Street!
Set during the Great Depression, 42nd Street follows a determined chorus girl whose big break brings new hope to a struggling Broadway company and joy to audiences everywhere!
We'll enjoy brunch at a local favorite restaurant prior to the production, on your own.

Thursday, August 13 / 10:00 am departure / $10 per person:
SEAFOOD & SHOPPING!
We're heading to the Connecticut shoreline for a day of fine dining and shopping!  We'll dine at one of the shore's most popular seafood restaurants-Lenny & Joe's Fish Tale Restaurant! We'll delight in such lunch offerings as their famous fish tale chowder. fish tale platters" baked stuffed casseroles, broiled fresh fish fillets and of course, lobster or crab rolls.  There are also plenty of selections for the land lubber, too. Following our delicious lunch, we'll travel over to the Clinton Crossing Outlets, where bargains await us. At this beautiful. spacious, outdoor outlet mall, we'll enjoy shopping at Ann Taylor. Chico's, Talbots" Yankee Candle....and more!

SUBMARINE FORCE!
The mission of the Submarine Force Library and Museum Association is to collect, preserve and interpret the history of the United States Naval Submarine Force in order to honor veterans and to educate naval personnel the public in the heritage and traditions of the US Submarine Force and its relationship to America's freedom.
We'll enjoy a docent led tour of the Museum ond the USS Nautilus!  A seafood lunch by the water is a must!  We'll even enjoy a stop at Avery Point Lighthouse and a bonus surprise trip on the way home, of course!   

Thursday, September 17 / 10am departure / $10 per person
BEACH DAY!
Now that the Summer rush is gone, it's OUR turn to visit the wonderful Connecticut shoreline!  We're traveling to Connecticut's largest shoreline park - Hammonasset Beach State Park in Clinton--offering over two miles of beautiful sandy beach to enjoy swimming, strolling, or just relaxing in the sand and surf. Nothing like a nap on the beach or a walk along the seashore - maybe you'll find the perfect seashell or sand dollar! Pack all of your beach gear. including your bikini (!!!), beach towel, beach chair and sunscreen - don't forget your picnic lunch!
You will have several hours to relax and enjoy the wonderful fresh salt air. We'll stop for a cool sweet treat on the way home, of course!

Join us as we travel to the West Coast in the Spring of 2027. A visit to experience the Redwood National Forest seems to be on everyone’s Bucket List. We’re thrilled to offer you the opportunity to check it off of your List!
Morris Community Activities (Morris Beach and Recreation / Morris Senior Center) have partnered with AAA Northeast / Collette Tours to bring you this once is a lifetime experience. You will enjoy 8 days / 7 nights in Washington / Oregon / California.
Some of the highlights of your experience include, but are not limited to: visits to Mount St. Helens Visitor Center, Columbia River Gorge, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Rogue River Cruise, Redwood National Park, Avenue of the Giants and finally...San Francisco!
We’ll be spending one day in Washington, three days in Oregon, and three days in California.
Your tour includes 12 meals: 7 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 3 dinners.
